津 軽三味線発祥の地
厳しい風土から生まれた津軽三味線。元祖神原の仁太坊(本名秋元仁太郎、政4年~和3年)は、 金木町の出身である。苦難の末、生きるための芸として創り出した「叩き奏法」。やがて仁太坊門下の八人芸、嘉瀬の桃や名手白川軍八郎などによって津軽三味 線の基礎が築かれた。日、豪快華麗な津軽三味線音楽の魅力に全国に愛好者、ファンが多く、芦野公園桜まつりに開催される恒例の全国大会は盛況である。
THE BIRTHPLACE OF TSUGARU-JAMISEN
The distinctive sound of Tsusaru-Jamisen reflects the severe living conditions people in this region used to fece. The pioneering instrumentalist Notaro Akimoto (1857-1928), whose nickname was "Nitabo in Kanbara', was born in Kanagi and lived In the Kanbara neighborhood. Seeking a steady livelihood after years of hardship, he created the dynamic, percussive Tataki style of shamisen playing. His eisht followers, including 'Momo in Kase" and the veryskillful player Gunpachire Shirakawa, further developed this style. Today there are many performers and fans of Tsusaru-Jamisen all over Japan. A national championship contest, held annually as part of the local Ashino Park Cherry Blossom Festival, has been very successful.
